On our way home from Greece, we thought that a good way to break up the long flight would be stopping in the UK and Spending a Day in London. I am so glad we did!  I absolutely loved London.  It’s colourful and lively and their accents are the best!  We bought tickets to a Hop-On/Hop-Off bus to see some of the most popular attractions.

We stayed in Soho, in the west end of London.  It’s a very energentic and lively part of town.  There were street musicians on many squares and corners and they were all amazing musicians.

Here we are standing in front of Buckingham Palace – home of the Queen.  It’s a very popular and busy spot.  Good for a picture or two.  Not much else.

Big Ben – the most famous clock tower in London is one of the most recognizable landmarks in England.    We snapped a quick pic as our bus went by.

The Sky Garden is London’s highest garden with 360-degree views of skylines.  There’s a cafe, a restaurant and an outdoor terrace.  It’s absoltely beautiful, and admission is free!  You just have to book your tickets in advance.  It’s defintely a must-see.

Leadenhall Market is the most beautiful Victorian market I’ve ever seen.  It was quite expensive but the pictures are free!

Neal’s Yard is one of the most colourful hidden gems in London.  It’s full of independant cafes, restaurants and shops.  Click here to read about how it all started.

All Eurpean cities have stunning architechture and London is no exception.  We would snap many pictures of majestic looking building while not knowing exactly what they were.  This one is Admiralty Arch and was easy to locate on the internet based on the Latin inscription at the top.

A perfect view of the London Eye from across the River Thames.  Walks along the river were a big part of our sightseeing.

London Bridge crossing the River Thames at night.  An iconic structure famous throughout the world.

Spending a Day in London

One day is nowhere near enough to see this vibrant city.  I would love to come back and spend more time here.

This was the 3rd stop in our European vacation.  Click here to read about our 1st stop in Paris;  Click here to read about our 2nd stop in Ioannina, Greece.  Thanks for visiting our site!
